The amount of sadaqa al-fitr and ransom for the month of Ramadan 2020

The Fatwa Board of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan has announced its decision on the amount of sadaqa al-fitr and ransom for the month of Ramadan 2020 (1441 AH). The resolution states that the criteria for sadaqa al-fitr and ransom are for the city of Tashkent, and that the representatives of each region determine the amount of sadaqa al-fitr and ransom based on the average prices in the markets in their territories.

The sadaqa al-fitr is equal to the value of the following four things described in the hadiths of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). They are: half a soybean from wheat, one soybean from barley, half a soybean from raisins and one soybean from dates. One so is approximately (≈) 4 kg.

Today, when studying the prices of these products in the markets of Tashkent, 1 kg. wheat average four thousand rubles, 1 kg. barley average three thousand rubles, 1 kg. raisins average thirty-five thousand rubles and 1 kg. the date was found to be an average of thirty thousand rupees.

Accordingly, the amount of FITR charity for 2020 (1441 h.):
≈ 2 kilograms of wheat 8 (eight thousand) soums;
≈ 4 kilograms of barley 12 (twelve thousand) soums;
≈ 2 kilograms of raisins 70 (seventy thousand) soums;
≈ 4 kilograms of dates should be set at 120 (one hundred and twenty thousand) soums.

It is enough for everyone to give sadaqa al-fitr from any of the above four products, depending on his ability.

Let this year's ransom be equal to the daily food of one poor person, and its average value be set at 20 (twenty thousand) soums!

It is known that the sadaqa al-fitr is a sadaqa that must be given to the poor by a Muslim who has reached the nisab of zakat, and given the current situation, it is advisable to give it during the month of Ramadan.
