Earthquake casualties in Tashkent
In 1966, an 8-magnitude earthquake shook the city of Tashkent. It destroyed 240 administrative buildings, about 1000 public facilities, 181 educational institutions and 245 industrial buildings, leaving more than 300 people homeless.
