NEONATAL ACNE

NEONATAL ACNE

Occurs in 20% of newborns. It consists of a set of grouped papules, located in the cheek and forehead area. Sometimes it ends with the formation of scarred spots.

The main reason is due to the fact that maternal hormones and endogenous androgens increase the activity of sebaceous glands.

Treatment is not necessary and often goes away on its own. Sometimes it can be stored for up to 2 months. In some cases it does not disappear by itself, so it should be treated with antiseptic solutions on the advice of a dermatologist!
