Part 1: What are dietary supplements?
Substances that are added to increase the safety of food, extend its shelf life, preserve or improve its taste, texture or appearance are called food additives.

Food supplements can be derived from plant, animal, or minerals. Synthetic additives are also available. They are deliberately added to the composition of food products, which serve to achieve specific technological purposes, which the consumer does not know. Today, several thousand food supplements are used, each of which has a unique function and serves to ensure the safety of food or improve its appearance.
