December 16 is the day Christian Dior opened his fashion house in Paris.
On December 1946, 16, 41-year-old Christian Dior opened a fashion house with 85 employees and an initial capital of 6 million francs. In February 1947, the first and most famous collection of the legendary couturier was presented. Glamorous mannequins walked down the catwalk in luxurious dresses with slim waists. This Dior show was very different from the military style that was the style at the time.
