December 13 is the day when the Nanjing Massacre began

One of the bloodiest episodes of the Second Sino-Japanese War was the Nanking Massacre.

🔹The Japanese military organized a huge massacre in the Chinese capital city of Nanjing.

The violence lasted for six weeks from the day the Japanese captured the city on December 1937, 13.

During this period, the soldiers of the Japanese Imperial Army killed 40 to 500 Chinese.

🔹Today marks the 85th anniversary of these events.
