Is excessive sweating a disease in children

The following types are available:

1⃣ physiological sweating.

2⃣ pathological sweating:
a) generalized
b) local

Reasons:

⏺ Physiological increase in sweating is observed at high ambient temperatures, heavy physical activity (sweating of the head when breastfeeding in infants). In such cases, excessive sweating helps to lower body temperature and is normal.

⏺ Pathological local hyperhidrosis is often manifested by sweating of the palms, especially with excitement. The reason for this may be, for example, neurocirculatory dystonia. Individual sweating of the feet is very common.

Pathological generalized sweating is observed in infectious diseases accompanied by fever, endocrine diseases (hyperthyroidism), pathology of the cardiovascular system.

Medical care:

1⃣ Drink plenty of fluids during physiological hyperhidrosis, you can also add a little salt to the water.

2⃣ If there is general hyperhidrosis on the background of an infectious disease, it is recommended to drink plenty of fluids, change underwear frequently and wear light clothing at body temperature.

3⃣ With local hyperhidrosis (underarms, palms, excessive sweating of the feet) - careful skin care, regular water treatments, contrast baths, baths with mavrak and dye tincture.

4⃣ If local hyperhidrosis of the palms and armpits does not respond to conservative treatment, it is treated surgically.

5⃣ Treatment of the underlying disease.
