The WINDOWS-XP system manages and reviews data storage structures on the computer in two ways: "Oil computer" (My computer) and "Provodnik" (Initiator) using applications.
"Oil computer" (My Computer) application shows the computer's file structure and drives, folders and files, including "Panel management" (Control Panel) and "Printer" (Printing devices) provides the ability to coordinate and control the operation of applications. "Oil computer" can also be used to launch, rename, move, and copy files.
On the desktop "Oil computer" If you double-click on the object, the application window will open (Fig. 5.11). "Oil computer" when the window opens, it shows the top level of the file structure. All openable disks are gray objects, and remaining resources are displayed in yellow Folder View.

"Oil computer" While studying the (My Computer) application, you noticed that files that solve a specific problem are grouped in separate folders. Now let's create a new, for example, folder that will store your files. To do this, when the window shown in Figure 5.11 appears on the computer screen, double-click the C: disk icon. then, "file" in the menu "Sozdat" (Create) command will be activated. From the list that appears Papka (Folder) line is selected.
In the resulting window, enter the name you want and, of course, confirm with the ENTER key. The volume is ready. To move some files to this folder, select the necessary files from another folder or disk. "Pravka" (Edit) menu "Copying" It is copied using the (Copy) command and "Pravka" (Edit) menu "Insert" Inserted into the current folder using the (Paste) command. This action can also be done using the icons on the toolbar.
"file" in the menu "Format" Diskettes can be formatted using the (Format) command. After the completion of the formatting process, an information window will appear on the screen. From it, you can find out how many damaged areas are on the diskette.
Before writing information to diskettes or to check for damaged areas of the hard disk "Proverka diska" ("Disk Check") application is used. Damaged sectors detected during the verification process are automatically repaired by this application.
