Today is September 7, the day of the Battle of Borodino

The Battle of Borodino was a 1812 Patriotic War between the Russian army led by Russian general MI Kutuzov and the French army led by Emperor Napoleon I Bonaparte.

It took place on September 1812, 7 (August 26 in the old account) near the village of Borodino, 125 km west of Moscow.

The French were counterattacked by 3 cuirassier regiments, and Marshal Murat was almost captured by the Russian cuirassiers, barely having time to hide among the Württemberg infantry.

Separate units of the French were forced to retreat, but the cuirassiers, not supported by infantry, were counterattacked by French cavalry and repulsed.

At 10 o'clock in the morning, the defense fortress was left in the hands of the French.

The counterattack of Konovnitsin's 3rd Infantry Division, which arrived in time, corrected the situation. Major-General Tuchkov, who led the attack of the Revel and Murom regiments, was killed in 4 battles.
