International day of premature babies

Today, November 17, is the International Day of Premature Children

This day was established in 2009 at the initiative of the European Foundation for the Care of Premature Children.

Every year on our planet, about 15 million children are born prematurely, in other words, on average, every tenth child is born prematurely.

More than one million of these children die at birth, and many suffer from physical and mental disabilities or experience various educational problems.

According to statistics, premature birth accounts for almost half of all newborn deaths worldwide.

In recent years, it has been observed that the premature birth of children has stabilized.

It is known that newborns are very vulnerable, but premature babies are the first.
