The canning industry in Uzbekistan developed in the 30s. Mainly, canned fruits and vegetables began to be produced.
In 1929, the Yangiyol cannery was launched, and in 1932, the Tashkent cannery was launched.
Canneries were built in Samarkand in the early 1940s. The Namangan cannery was also expanded.
