Pelvic joint dysplasia
♻️ Pelvic joint dysplasia and its congenital origin are among the most common orthopedic diseases in children.
⭕️ This disease is more common in girls than in boys (7: 1). Because it is so difficult to detect the first signs of a birth defect, it is not detected by parents and sometimes medical staff at the time of illness, and only after the child begins to walk, they begin to pay attention to it when they are lame. However, good results can only be obtained if pelvic joint dysplasia and congenital hip dislocation are detected and treated before the child walks.
⭕️ The first symptoms of this disease are: the outward appearance of the foot, the shortness of one leg relative to the other on one side, the inconsistency of the internal skin folds in the hip area, limited distance from the body when the foot is bent at the knee joint, when the foot is at the knee joint and opens outwards, the head of the femur falls into the pelvic girdle and protrudes when brought.
⭕️ If a child is diagnosed with any of the above symptoms, a pediatric orthopedist should be consulted immediately. Children are examined clinically, with the help of ultrasound and radiography, the diagnosis is made and treatment is started. Treatment methods vary, depending on the age of the child, the degree of congenital malformations. The younger the child, the more he can be treated with various devices (special tires made of thick and hard materials to stretch the legs, Vilensky tires and "special pampers"). If the child's leg shortness is large, then the defect is treated with various plaster casts (according to Ter-Yegiazarov-Sheptun, Lange, Lawrence methods), and in some cases, surgically. It is also recommended that infants be examined by an orthopedist at a family clinic at 2 months of age and that their feet be covered with a wide blanket or "accessory devices" for prophylaxis.
⭕️ It would be useful for parents to pay attention to the symptoms of pelvic joint dysplasia and its congenital orthopedic disease in children mentioned in our topic and to consult a specialist immediately to prevent it. Unfortunately, some parents bring their children to medical facilities late, ignoring the advice of doctors. As an expert, I would recommend that when your child is born, if you do not observe the above, then you can apply to the Republican Children's Orthopedic Center to be satisfied.
