The value of salt

In ancient times, a king had three daughters. One day the king called his daughters to him:

"How much do you love me?" He asked.

The eldest daughter said, "As long as the world lasts," and the middle daughter said, "Hugs with kindness." The king was happy and hugged his daughters. Then, looking at his thoughtful youngest daughter, he repeated his question, wondering if he could find a measure of his love for me.

Finally, the youngest daughter was happy to be found and smiled at her father:

"You are more precious to me than salt, father," he said.

The king was furious at his little daughter's answer:

- Does a child ever equate the value of his father with the cheapest food - salt? This ungrateful girl is in prison, 'he shouted. Despite the tears, the guards threw the little girl into prison.

Aware of the incident, the old jailer could not bear this injustice of the king. In the middle of the night, when the palace was asleep, the girl was released from prison and escaped from the palace.

The youngest girl walked and walked and walked and walked and walked and walked and walked and walked and walked and walked and walked and walked and walked and walked and walked and walked A stranger, but with loving eyes, took the youngest girl as a servant to the house of one of the rich men here. The rich man's wife also liked the girl for her quickness and cleanliness, and the girl lived here. From year to year, the beauty of the girl was added to her beauty and ingenuity. Her beauty passed from hand to hand, from tongue to tongue. Hearing of the youngest girl's fame, the king of the neighboring state took her away as a bride for a wedding.

Some time later, the girl told the prince about her experience and that she intended to invite her father to a party. When the prince agreed, the necessary preparations were made, and the princess invited her father to a banquet.

The girl's father visited the palace with the officials on the said day. The smell of delicious dishes on the table. The guest-king reached for the food with appetite, but when he tasted it, his face was not wrinkled and he could hardly swallow the bite in his mouth, he did not look back at the food. Because there is not a pinch of salt in the food, it is very tasteless. The younger girl, who was silently watching her father, who was hungry and nervous, got up and turned to the "guest."

"King, I have heard that when your youngest daughter said, 'I love you as much as salt,' you threw her in prison."

The king did not say a word, but looked at the food with regret.

"Father, I am your sinful daughter." To prove myself right, to make you understand the meaning of what I said then, I deliberately prepared your favorite dishes at the banquet table without adding salt, forgive your sinful daughter, ”he said, lifting the veil from her face.

Embarrassed by the injustice of the king, he realized the importance of salt in human life. Tears welled up in his eyes, and he embraced his clever and kind daughter.
