Imam Ismail al-Bukhari is a well-known muhaddith scholar (muhaddith is the science of hadiths, reports on the words and deeds of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) specific to Islam) and the second most important al-Jami 'al-Jami' Author of the book "Sahih".
Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari was born in 810 in Bukhara. It turns out that his paternal grandfather was one of the first converts to Islam.
His father was one of the scribes of sacred narrations. From the age of 5-6, Ishmael began to study the Qur'an and religious sciences, especially the hadiths. He had a perfect memory, could quickly study what he read, and then analyzed them in detail. By the age of 16, he had memorized the entire collection of hadiths of those times.
825 - Al-Bukhari travels to Mecca and Medina with his mother and brother Ahmad on a pilgrimage. After the pilgrimage, his mother and brother returned to Bukhara, where he traveled to various Muslim countries and learned from well-known teachers of his time.
According to legend, he collected hundreds of thousands of hadiths and memorized 300 of them. He spends 42 years of his life in search. He began working on his book in Basra and wrote it for many years. According to him, the book includes the hadiths of 1080 hadith scholars. The reliability of the hadiths can be a clear indicator of their source of origin and each chain, since the moral representation of the supplier is implied, allowing it to be trusted.
It is known from sources that he wrote many books, including "History of the Great" - "The Great History".
After writing As-Sahih, he returned to Bukhara and taught all those who wanted knowledge, through which he taught people to read and bring great benefits to society. His reputation was so high that a hadith unknown to him was considered unreliable by the people.
Against his will, he quarreled with the ruler of Bukhara, Tahirid Khalid ibn Ahmad, and was forced to move to the village of Khartang on the outskirts of Samarkand, where he died 870 years ago.
The tomb, located in the village of Khartang, Chelak district of Samarkand region, has become the most revered and sacred place of pilgrimage.
In the XNUMXth century, a mosque was built in front of the mausoleum of Imam al-Bukhari and plane trees were planted.
On October 1998, 23, celebrations dedicated to the 1225th anniversary of the famous scientist were held in Samarkand. In connection with this event, a project led by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan IAKarimov - a huge unique architectural complex - was built. The best builders and craftsmen of Samarkand, Tashkent, Bukhara, Khiva, Shakhrisabz, Andijan, Kokand and Namangan took part in the project.
The complex is entered through a roof with a gate decorated with patterns. On both sides of the entrance there are memorial plaques about the construction of the complex in Arabic and Latin script.
In the central axis of the complex there is a rectangular mausoleum of Ismail al-Bukhari with an area of ​​9 × 9 meters and a height of 17.0 meters. The dome of the mausoleum is decorated with double-sided, ribbed, blue images. The walls are made of tiles, plaster, onyx and granite with floral and geometric patterns. Dahma scales are made of light green onyx.
On the left side of the courtyard there is a khanakah and a gallery with an area of ​​786 square meters, which can accommodate 1500 people at a time. To the right is a library and a museum that houses rare manuscripts and lithographic books on Islamic studies, as well as gifts from government officials from various countries, in particular, kasvas-sheets from the Kaaba in Mecca.
Inside the courtyard is a training center for teaching engineering.
In the center of the courtyard there are ancient plane trees and a pool, in front of which there is a healing spring.
In order to deeply study and disseminate the spiritual heritage of Imam al-Bukhari, an international fund was established and since 2000 has published its own spiritual-educational scientific-literary journal "Lessons of Imam al-Bukhari" in Uzbek. is coming.
Al-Bukhari's books are used in madrassas as a university textbook in the study of the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
