Is it not harmful if the child eats a lot of sweets?
Some parents say that there is nothing wrong with eating chocolate or candy before their child is 1-2 years old, while for others, sweets are among the forbidden products for their child. Is candy harmful for young children?
To find an answer to this question, we turned to the advice of Sirs, a pediatrician famous for his pedagogical books in the world.
In his opinion, there are a number of negative consequences of teaching sweets at a young age.
Before giving your child chocolate or candy, be sure to:
1. If a child is introduced to sweets from a young age (up to 1-2 years old), he will not know the norm of eating sweets when he grows up. That is, even if you put 10 pieces of chocolate in front of him, he will eat it. Children who know sweetness after 5-6 years, on the contrary, can feel moderation in food. Such children cannot eat ten pieces of chocolate. When a child grows up, the habit of knowing the norm is also manifested in eating other products. Such children are less prone to problems such as obesity and overweight. If you give a beautifully decorated birthday cake to a child who was introduced to sweets late, he will be very happy and will refuse to eat the extra cream even if you don't speak. You will also be grateful for such a wonderful gift.
2. Children who are used to eating sweets from a young age refuse to eat healthy food. A child who knows the taste of chocolate does not want to eat vegetable puree. Products without juice look bad.
3. Rubbing a child with sweets has a negative effect on his psyche. When the child is nervous, he plays with chocolate. As he gets older, there is a possibility that chocolate will not be enough for him and another handful will be difficult.
4. In fact, chocolate is good for adults. It gives strength, uses the brain, helps in cases like dizziness due to anemia. But if the body is used to eating a lot of chocolate and sweets at a young age, the positive properties of chocolate cannot be manifested in the body when it grows up.
5. Consuming a lot of chocolate and candies from a young age causes the child's tooth to develop caries quickly.
6. Excessive amount of sugar (glucose, sucrose) in sweets can have a negative effect on the physical condition of some children. The child becomes nervous, aggressive and very excited due to hormones after eating sweets. It is difficult to put such children to sleep at lunch or at night, they become hyperactive with increased energy. Every day, the child releases excess energy, being hyperactive causes him to grow up as a nervous child.
From what age did your child get used to sweets? Don't rush, the later he gets to know you, the more it will benefit him and you.
7. If you want to please the child with sweets, you can give him honey instead of sugar, or sweet fruits (fructose) and dairy products (lactose).
8. You cannot please a child who is used to sweets with any other product. For example, if you give a 2-year-old boy who loves chocolate a plate of raspberries, he will ask you to put sugar on top. It will be difficult to be happy with the wonderful taste of raspberry. The child wants to replace the natural taste with sugar.
9. Studies show that people who eat a lot of sweets from a young age have problems with excess weight in childhood and some even in adulthood.
10. Finally, sweets have a negative effect on the discipline of the child. When it's time to eat, the child wants to fill his stomach with sweets and refuses to eat healthy food. Nutrition, correct and healthy nutrition is of particular importance in child education. Because this is a direct guarantee of the child's health.
