July 20 - International Moon Day
International Moon Day is celebrated every year on July 20 to commemorate the day humans first set foot on the Moon. On July 1969, 20, Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to walk on the surface of the Moon.
The purpose of International Moon Day is to encourage scientific research and discoveries related to the Moon. It is also a day to celebrate the achievements of space exploration and inspire future generations to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.
