July 29 – International Tiger Day

International Tiger Day is celebrated every year on July 29 to raise awareness about tiger conservation and their dwindling numbers.

Tigers are one of the most popular and endangered species on the planet, with only about 3900 tigers left in the wild.

International Tiger Day was first established in 2010 at the St. Petersburg Tiger Summit in Russia.

The main objectives of International Tiger Day are:

1. To create awareness about the importance of tiger conservation.
2. Identify the threats tigers face in the wild.
3. Promote international cooperation in tiger conservation efforts.
4. Encourage governments to strengthen policies and laws to protect tigers.
5. Mobilize public support for tiger conservation initiatives.
