Baghdad district was established on September 1926, 29. On December 1962, 24, it was annexed to Uchkoprik district and reorganized on December 1964, 31. The district is located in the central region of Fergana region, 333,3 km. sq. occupies an area. The population is more than 218 thousand. The total length of its borders: 98,1 km. It borders Rishton (34,2 km) to the south, Altiariq (21,2 km) to the east, Buvayda (19,5 km) to the north, and Uchkoprik (23,2 km) to the west. A railway running in the direction "Ko'kon-Andijan-Kokon" passed through the territory of the district. Its center is the city of Baghdad. The writer poet Mukimi has a lot of information about the villages of Bagdad district and many villages in the Fergana Valley, where the Fergana Grand Canal also flows, in his "Travel Noma".
