September 9 - World First Aid Day

World First Aid Day is celebrated every year on the second Saturday of September. This is an annual event that aims to raise awareness of the importance of first aid knowledge and skills in saving lives and preventing further injuries.

First aid is the immediate care given to a person who is injured or suddenly ill before the arrival of doctors. This can be crucial in saving lives, preventing conditions from worsening, and providing comfort to those in need. First aid can be as simple as applying pressure to stop the bleeding or giving heart-lung resuscitation (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) to someone who has stopped breathing.
