What is the procedure for payment of unemployment benefits to persons recognized as unemployed?
- Unemployment benefit is granted to a person recognized as unemployed from the date of registration with the local labor authority as a job seeker.
- The right of an unemployed person to a pension comes into force on the evening of the eleventh day from the date of his registration as a job seeker.
- Unemployment benefits are paid for a maximum of twenty-six calendar weeks over a twelve-month period. The unemployed must look for work during the period of unemployment benefits and apply to the local employment office at least once every two weeks for a referral.
