1. The Black Death, or Black Plague, was the second plague pandemic in history, culminating in 1346-1353 and continuing until the nineteenth century.
2. Spanish flu or “Spanish flu” - the epidemic lasted from January 1918 to 1920; the Spanish flu has infected at least 550 million people worldwide.
3. The Justinian Plague - the first recorded plague pandemic in history, manifested itself over two centuries - from 541 to the middle of the eighth century.
