Mamurjon Uzokov is a good singer and folk singer. He loved to sing very early, and first learned to sing from Mamatbobo and Boltaboy hafiz, to play the dutar and yalla from Hasan Qori, to learn complex performance techniques, the peculiarities and subtleties of singing great songs. He was an effective composer for many years and sang in unison with great singers.
Khushovoz singer, people's singer Mamurjon Uzokov was born in 1904 in Margilan.
In 1922-1925 Khudoibergan hafiz, in 1926-1932 Hasan qori, in 1933-1962 with Jurahon Sultanovs sang many classical, folk and modern songs.
M. Uzokov first took part in concerts in "teahouses", worked as a singer in the Margilan theater in the 30s, and when he began to find his place in singing, he came to Tashkent and in 1940-1950 was an artist and singer at the Muqimi Theater. He has acted in some plays.
The role of Tahir in the play "Tahir and Zuhra" by S. Abdulla and T. Jalilov is one of them. But M. Uzokov was recognized as a folk singer, an artist born by nature, not for the stage, but for singing.
From 1952 to 1962 he worked as a singer at the Radio of Uzbekistan, a soloist in the Uzbek State Variety, and participated in major cultural events in the country and abroad.
The songs sung with the poems of Muqimi, Furqat, Hamza, Habibi, S. Abdulla have a strong place in his repertoire. In particular, he said: , "Ayrilmasin", "Ko'zim shahloga tushdi", "Qachon bolg'aykim", "Tomon keladur", "Dogman" folk songs, big songs, yalla enjoyed the aesthetics.
There are also rare songs composed by M. Mirzayev, such as "Yakka bu Fergana", "Surating" (Muqimiy), "Nur istab", "Qachon bolg'aykim" (Furqat), "Bir kelib ketsun" (Hamza). Poetry also plays an important role in his work.
M. Uzokov's creative work was deservedly rewarded.
In 1939, he was awarded the title of "People's Artist of Uzbekistan." He died in 1963 while singing in Margilan.
Many hafiz and singers continue his tradition of singing folk songs, yallas, especially big songs. On the occasion of the 9th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, M. Uzokov was awarded the Order of Merit for his great contribution to the development of Uzbek national culture.
