Acrocyanosis in infants

Blue discoloration of the skin is associated with impaired blood circulation in the capillaries.

Cyanosis in the distal parts of the body is called acrocyanosis:
-fingers and toes
at the tip of the nose
around the lips and mouth
-in the supraspinatus
(Cyanosis around the lips and mouth in the picture)

Acrocyanosis is more common in premature babies.

Reasons:
-Heart failure
-Congenital heart defects (interventricular septal defect)
-Cold hardening
-Strong disturbance (loud screaming and crying)

Detection of acrocyanosis in newborns is not always a sign of illness!

❗️When a child is diagnosed with bruising around the mouth, it is necessary to immediately see a pediatrician without negligence!
