HEATING DRUGS FOR CHILDREN

Antipyretics for children must meet the following requirements:

1⃣ Dosage should be easy. Syrups and tablets meet these conditions.

2⃣ Must have a quick effect. It should lower the fever in an average of half an hour.

3⃣ The taste must be pleasant and odorless. So that the child does not refuse to drink.

It is convenient for very capricious children and in the process of nausea to use the form of a candle. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the risk of the active substance being absorbed directly into the blood and the rapid manifestation of the effect.
When it comes to choosing syrups, it is important to keep in mind the side effects of sugar and various additional dyes.

Recommended drugs:

1⃣ Paracetamol-containing drugs-Panadol, Sefekon, Efferalgan.

2⃣ Ibuprofen-containing drugs-Nurofen, Ibufen-D, Sinepar…

DON'T FORGET!

Currently, drugs in the form of suppositories are released in a dosed state and at a certain age range.

For example: Sefekon suppository is released in the amount of 100 mg for use in children from 3 months to 3 years.

Or paracetamol tablets are given by many specialists as a "children's dose" of 200 mg, either whole (from 3 to 12 years) or in part (1/4 to 3 months, 1/2 to 3 months to 3 years).
This is not the optimal solution, the most optimal solution is to calculate the dose based on the weight of the child.

The optimal dose of paracetamol is 1 mg per 15 kg of body weight, with an interval of not less than 4 hours, and the daily dose is not more than 1 mg per 60 kg of body weight.

The optimal dose of ibuprofen is 1 mg per 10 kg of body weight up to 3 times a day (not more than 30 mg).

❌ The use of acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) is prohibited under 12 years of age.
