Full copy to another disk without having to reinstall the program
FreeMove at github.com (https://github.com/imDema/FreeMove) is free open source software that allows you to completely move installed software folders to another location or even to another disk without compromising functionality. allows
The folder to be copied and its new location are selected, then the Move button is clicked.
Note the Set original folder to hidden option. It allows you to hide the current (original) folder in Explorer so as not to confuse you later.
This is because the utility moves all folders and files to a new location, and in its old location creates symbolic links to them (https://t.me/pcTeapot/2222). So without deleting the copied folders, just close them.
Application:
Double-click on the file with the .EXE extension designed to launch and follow the windows recommendation in the installation sequence.
⚠️ Note: Administrator rights are required for this program to work fully.
Recommendations:
Do not try to copy system directories, as they will cause functions such as Windows Update Center and Windows App Store to fail.
The following: C: \ Users | C: \ Documents and Settings | C: \ ProgramData | C: \ Program Files | Do not try to copy directories such as C: \ Program Files (x86). If you still want to do this, you will be taking responsibility. Refer to the last section of Readme to return the catalog.
However, there is no problem in copying the subdirectories contained in the directories mentioned above. So you can copy C: \ Program Files \ HugeProgramIDontWantOnMySSD without any problem.
Uninstalling downloaded programs:
Programs are normally deleted without disconnecting. The uninstall program works in normal mode, leaving an empty directory (folder) where the program was copied and a link to the previous location of the directory, which you can then delete manually.
