History of Counter Strike

Counter Strike (also Half-Life Counter Strike, Counter Strike 1,6) is a series of games produced by the American company Valve for Windows.

The game was originally created in 1999 by programmer Min Lee and Jess Clif. Valve later bought the copyright to the game and released Counter Strike as a standalone game in 2000. The game has been developed for platforms such as MacOS, Linux and XBox for years, gaining popularity through this.

The plot of the game can be cited as the reason for its popularity. The user chooses one of 2 sides (Terrorist or Counter-Terrorist) and fights with opponents. The game consists of rounds and the round continues until the last player of the opponent dies. At the beginning of each round, users can buy the weapon they want.

The first Counter Strike tournament was held in Sweden in 2013. The sponsor of the tournament is DreamHack, the total fund of the tournament was 250 thousand US dollars. 16 teams fought for the title.
