Why is appendicitis dangerous?

🔹Appendicitis is an inflammation of a worm-like tumor. If appendicitis is not removed or if you take analgesics (painkillers) without consulting a doctor, it can rupture.

🔹As a result, bacteria and pus accumulated in the appendix enter the abdominal cavity, causing inflammation of its mucous membrane.

🔹This condition is called peritonitis and it is very life threatening as it often leads to blood poisoning i.e. sepsis.
