Abdullah ibn Ravoha

His full name is Abdullah ibn Rawaha ibn Salaba ibn Imriul Qays. His name is Abu Muhammad, and his title is "Poet of the Messenger of Allah (saw)."
One of the great Companions, Abdullah ibn Rawaha (ra) was born in Madinah and belonged to the tribe of Hazraj. He became a Muslim on the second day of Aqaba and pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (saw). After the migration, he became a close friend of Miqdad ibn Aswadi. Abdullah was one of the secretaries of the Prophet (saas).
Abdullah ibn Rawaha was a powerful orator and a great poet, writing poems in response to the poets who attacked the Prophet (saas) through poetry. In addition, Muslim poets such as Ka'b ibn Malik and Hassan ibn Thabit used to make fun of the disbelievers when necessary. Verses 224-227 of Surat al-Shu'ara in the Qur'an state in the commentaries that these three poets, who sincerely loved our Prophet (saas), were revealed.
Regarding Abdullah's poems, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Bullets are more effective against the polytheists of Quraysh than rain of bullets.”
When Abdullah, who wept before leaving for the battle of Mut'a, was asked the reason for his tears, he said, “I love the world, but there is no continuation among you. But the Messenger of Allah (saas) said: "(O Muhammad,) Say, "Whoever goes astray, may the Most Gracious extend his term until he has been promised." (world) When they see the torment or the Hour, they know whose rank is worse and whose army is weaker. (Mary, 75), I heard the verse. As the verse says, if I go to hell, I will weep over what will happen to me. "
Abdullah ibn Rawaha was martyred in the battle of Mut'a. In addition, Zayd ibn Haritha and Ja'far al-Sadiq also perished. When the Messenger of Allah (saas) was informed of the death of these three Companions, he was deeply saddened.
About our Prophet (saas) Abdullah ibn Rawaha: "Your brother never tells a lie", they said.

The name of Abdullah ibn Rawaha ibn Salabah ibn Imrul Qays (may Allah be pleased with him) from the tribe of Hazraj is Abu Muhammad. He was born in Medina. 'Abdullah ibn Rawaha (may Allaah be pleased with him) was also the secretary of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). When the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to Madinah, he was one of the Companions who entertained him.
In those days, many in the land of Arabia expressed their thoughts through poetic verses. Allah says about the poets in Surat al-Shu'ara (The Poets) of the Qur'an: “Poets are followed by those who go astray. Do you not see that they are in every valley? What do they say that they do not do?(224-226) When he revealed his verses, 'Abdullah ibn Rawaha and other Companions of the Companions began to weep. Then: “But after believing and doing good deeds and always remembering Allah and being oppressed (After the development of Islam) the winners (exceptions). And the wrongdoers will soon know the consequences. " (Shuaro, 227) He was relieved to hear the verse. Abdullah ibn Rawaha, Ka'b ibn Malik and Hassan ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) were such Muslim poets.
It is narrated on the authority of al-Tirmidhi that 'A'isha asked, "Did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) cite an example from a poem?" was asked. 'A'isha said, "They used to cite the example of Ibn Rawaha's poetry."
Ibn 'Abbas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said about verse 221 of Surat al-Baqara: This verse was revealed about' Abdullah ibn Rawaha. He had a maid. He became angry with his maid and struck her, then became frightened and told the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) about it. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, 'O' Abdullah, what is he like? ' they asked. He replied, "He prays and fasts, acknowledging that there is no god but Allah and that you are the Messenger of Allah." He (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: O 'Abdullah, he is a believer. 'Abdullah said, "By the One who sent you with the truth, I will release him and marry him." Some criticized him, saying, "He married a maid." After this incident, Allah Almighty said: “Do not marry polytheistic women until they believe. For a faithful maid is better than a free polytheistic woman, though she is (mushrik) even if you like it ”(Baqarah, 221) revealed the verse.
Abdullah ibn Rawaha (may Allah be pleased with him) died in 629 AD.
