Norwegian polar explorer Rual Amudsen was born on July 1872, 16. In 1903–1906, he sailed from the Dutch to Alaska on the ship Yoa via the Northwest Sea. He conducted significant geomagnetic observations for 2 years on King William Island in the Canadian Arctic. The tourist explored the North Magnetic Pole on the Buty-Felix Peninsula in 1904 and was the first to map about 100 islands in the area. In 1911 he organized an expedition to Antarctica on the ship "Fram". On December 14 of that year, for the first time in history (a month before R. Scott), she reached the South Pole, and on her return from there, Queen Maud discovered the mountain system (4500 m). On May 1926-12, 13, Rual Amudsen flew for the first time over the Artika in a Norwegian airship on the Spitsbergen-North Pole-Alaska route. When the Umberto Nobile Expedition crashed in 1928, he was also lost in a crash in the Barents Sea on June 18 while a tourist was flying a seaplane to help the expedition. Rual Amudsen has written several works about his travels. In Russian: The Flying Over the Ice Ocean, co-authored with L. Elsworth in 1927, The Expedition to the Northern Coast of Asia on the Mod, 1929, The South Pole, 1937, 1936–1939 A 5-volume collection of works, 1959 My Life and other works were published. A nearby marine and American polar station (Amundsen-Scott) near Antarctica, as well as a mountain range, bay, and underwater gorge (in the Arctic Ocean) are named after Rual Amudsen.
