Another new holiday on our planet - Global Day of Parents - was announced in September 2012 at the 66th session of the UN General Assembly. Since 2013, it has been celebrated annually on June 1 in honor of parents around the world. The purpose of the holiday is to remind the inhabitants of our planet of universal values, to make these values the basis of a strong and moral family. After all, the family (primarily the parents) is responsible for the protection and upbringing of children. The UN General Assembly calls on all member states to celebrate the holiday "with the participation of youth and children in partnership with civil society".
