Preserving the entire world heritage of our ancestors means passing on memories of the past to future generations. In 2005, the Director-General of UNESCO approved a resolution at the 33rd General Session of UNESCO on 27 October, World Audiovisual Heritage Day, which means the preservation and protection of moving images, adopted in 1980. Audiovisual heritage includes films, radio and television programs, audio and video recordings. The promotion of mass audiovisual dates back to the twentieth century, and today is the primary means of disseminating information. They are designed for people with very high levels of hearing, sharpness, and vice versa. In other words, audiovisual documents became additions to traditional written distributors. According to UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova, audiovisual sources should be considered as a creative mirror of the human eye and our culture as a living tissue. Preserving this heritage is of great importance to its true value. But much of it has been irreparably ruined, meaning that all audiovisual resources are declining due to technical backwardness as a result of not knowing its value, he says. Founded in 1997, the International Registry "Remembering the World" now has 200 titles of documentary heritage, including audiovisual heritage, heritage of global significance and audiovisual history. Audiovisual history is preserved in Russia in the form of television audio programs.
