What is a sports passport and which organization issues it?

 

On September 2015, 4, in accordance with the Law "On Physical Culture and Sports" in Uzbekistan, sports passports of athletes were introduced in our country.
The procedure for issuing, maintaining, exchanging and registering a sports passport is determined in accordance with the "Regulations on Sports Passports" (registered by the Ministry of Justice on November 2017, 22 under number 2949).
At the same time, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to further improve and popularize physical culture and sports in the Republic of Uzbekistan" dated January 2020, 24 No 5924, sports as target indicators of the Concept It is planned to create a single database of athletes who regularly participate in certain sports and regularly participate in sports through the issuance of passports.
A sports passport is a unique document that certifies an athlete's affiliation with a physical education and sports organization and his or her sports qualifications.
In accordance with the regulations, the registration, issuance and accounting of sports passports and their entry into the single information system is carried out by the state unitary enterprise "Center for Certification of Sports and Tourism Services" of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
From the sports passport:
the transfer of an athlete from one physical education and sports organization to another;
registration of the athlete for participation in sports competitions;
medical examination of the athlete;
fulfillment by the athlete of the norms and requirements necessary for obtaining sports titles and sports ranks;
as well as in other cases provided by law.
Maintaining a sports passport ensures a single registration procedure for athletes of the Republic, continuous monitoring of their activities and achievements.
The document also contains information about the athletes' sports category, participation in competitions, membership in sports organizations, the results of medical examinations, and their coaches. A single electronic database of all athletes in the country will be created to disqualify athletes and provide them with state and other awards. As a result, the selection of athletes will be carried out in a centralized and systematic manner, and the national team will be provided with a quality reserve of athletes.
