The mosque in Tashkent is called Minor because it is located in the same neighborhood. “Minor” is actually derived from the Arabic word “manor” which means “beacon”, “height”. The elders of the neighborhood say that in ancient times the neighborhood was located at an altitude higher than other parts of the city.
On October 2014, 4, on the eve of Eid al-Adha, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, accompanied by clerics, architects and builders of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, elders of the neighborhood, directly participated in the opening of the Minor Mosque. The head of our state inspected the interior and exterior of the mosque, airy awnings, columns carved on the basis of national carvings, ornaments on the dome of the building and praised the work of our masters.
During a visit to the place of goodness, the head of state shared his thoughts: “When asked why the culture of Uzbekistan is so ancient, it is primarily because of our religion. I would say, "If we did not have a holy religion, Islam, we would not have such a culture."
The mosque has all modern conditions and conveniences. The mosque's khanaqah, the downstairs khanaqah, the rooms of imams and deputies, and all other staff are also equipped with modern heating and cooling systems.
The fact that the mosque is completely covered with white marble gives it a special beauty, splendor and luxury. Combining ancient and modern architecture, this building attracts visitors with its charm. Door-frames made by skilled craftsmen of our country, carved columns and mounds using the art of carving make the mosque a real work of art in the eyes of pilgrims.
The mosque is also surrounded by a square with lawns, which are planted with various ornamental trees. Seating is set up at the edge of the sidewalks for pedestrians to relax.
The outer courtyard of the mosque, which has been turned into a park, is decorated with white lights that match the color of the mosque. The fountain in front of the mosque also adds beauty to the beauty of the mosque and attracts people.
The Minor Mosque is one of the largest mosques in Tashkent, with a total area of ​​more than 5000 worshipers. The total area of ​​the Minor Mosque is 4.5 hectares.
1326 ornamental trees planted in the courtyard of the mosque were brought from the Kingdom of Belgium in Europe.
The height of the minaret of the mosque is 45 meters, while the blue dome is 34 meters high.
The mosque is made entirely of concrete. Both sides of the walls are covered with artificial white marble imported from China with special coatings.
Nine to eighteen pillars on the right and left porches of the mosque, thirty-one doors of different sizes in the mosque are made of Ukrainian Buk tree imported from the European country of Ukraine, made by the Ijod-Ijod Craftsmen's Association in Tashkent. carvings were made.
The total area of ​​the mosque is 1326 square meters. The altar of the mosque is copied from the altar of the Tilla Kori mosque of the Registan complex in Samarkand region. Skilled masters from all regions of the country were involved in the construction of this mosque and a beautiful example of our national handicrafts was demonstrated in this mosque.
The names "Allah" on the right side of the mosque's altar and "Muhammad" on the left are skillfully written by calligraphers. Verses 285-286 of Surat al-Baqara are inscribed on the sides of the altar.
