The word vegetarian comes from the Latin word meaning “plant-based”. These people limit meat products in their diet and often consume fruits and vegetables. They also completely deny milk, eggs and fats. While some find such products harmful, others become vegetarians out of kindness to animals.
In the ranking of cities with the largest number of vegetarians in 2021, the population of Chianmay, located in the state of Thailand, was the first. Out of every 100 people here, 30 are vegetarians. In second place is the population of the city of Ubud, Indonesia. Out of every 100 people in this city, 19 are vegetarians.
