Today, August 11, is the opening day of Pakhtakor Stadium
Pakhtakor Stadium was built in the center of Tashkent between 1954 and 1956.
On August 1956, 11, the sports complex built on the banks of Ankhor was commissioned and named "Pakhtakor" like the leading team of our republic.
The theater gathered more than 50 spectators and celebrated its birthday.
Builders and farmers, athletes and artists, officials and coaches wished that the new complex would present many historical competitions to the fans during the celebrations that turned into a holiday.
The first match at the new stadium took place on August 1956, 20.
35 fans watched the match between the players from Tashkent and their opponents from Tbilisi.
On September 19, the "Pakhtakor" central arena hosted the first international meeting.
"Pakhtakorchilar" tried their best against the "Dinamo" team of Tirana, the capital of Albania, and won.
