December 18 — International Arabic Language Day

Arabic Language Day has been celebrated since 2010.

On the eve of the International Mother Language Day, the Public Relations Department of the UN proposed to set a holiday for each of the six official languages of the organization.

This initiative aims to strengthen intercultural communication and develop a multilingual world.

In the international calendar, the date of December 18 was chosen for the Arabic language day.

On this day in 1973, the UN General Assembly included Arabic as one of the official and working languages of the United Nations.

Arabic is the most mature language among the world's languages in terms of maturity and eloquence. In addition, Arabic is one of the most widely spoken languages spoken by 422 million people.
