Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service was established in February 1931 in Tashkent as the "Central Asian Institute of Planning". was named. In August 1935, the institute was moved from Tashkent to Samarkand.
In accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Union dated November 1960, 23, this institute was renamed the Samarkand Cooperative Institute.
On March 1998, 24, in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 123, it was transferred to the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan. By the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 2004 of March 26, 144, Samarkand was transformed into the Institute of Economics and Service.
