The ruler of Movarounnahr, who was from the Timurids. Grandson of Amir Temur. The son of Mironshah. Raised by Saray Mulkhonim (Bibikhanim). 15-year-old Khalil showed bravery by participating in Sultan Sahibqiran's campaign to India (1399-1400). By marrying Shodimulk, who came from the lower class, Amir incurred the wrath of Termur, and was later forgiven. Khalil Sultan was appointed the head of the right wing of the army during Sahibqiran's campaign to China. Although there were strong supporters of placing Pirmuhammad on the throne in accordance with Amir Temur's will, he captured Samarkand on March 1405, 18 and declared himself the supreme ruler of Movarunnahr. Although he gained the throne of Movarunnahr with the help of the treasures left by his grandfather, the influence of Sahibqiran was obvious and he turned a certain part of his arrogance to his side. and faces strong displeasure and rebellion from the princes. First, the governor of Turkestan and Fergana, Amir Khudaidad, and Sheikh Nuriddin Khalil revolted against Sultan. Even his own brother, Mirza Sultan Husayn, rebelled against his brother, intending to establish his power in the provinces of the left bank of Amudarya. In turn, Pirmuhammad, the main crown prince of Amir Temur's throne, crossed the Amudarya and marched his army towards Nasaf against Khalil Sultan. Amir Khudaidad easily captured the cities of Oratepa and Shahrukhiya and drew troops towards Samarkand. Khalil Sultan's army was defeated in the battle on the banks of the Zarafshan River near Shiraz, and he himself was captured.
Khalil Sultan followed the words of his wife in managing the government by wasting the state treasury. Random people were appointed to high positions in the palace. This was strongly opposed by other Timurids. Shahrukh, the ruler of Khurasan, marched with a large army to Movaroonnahr and occupied Samarkand. As a result of the treaty concluded with Shahrukh (1409), he gave up Movarounnahr. Rai was given to Khalil Sultan. He lived here until the end of his life. When Khalil Sultan died, Shadimulk also killed himself.
