Today, December 22, is the Day of Energy Workers

Congratulations to all representatives of the industry on this holiday!

The history of this date dates back to 1920. More precisely, in connection with the adoption of the "State Electrification Plan" (GOELRO) in the Soviet state more than a century ago, according to the decree of the Supreme Council of the Union dated May 1966, 23, December 22 is celebrated as the professional holiday of Energeticians.

December 22 is declared the holiday of energy workers in Ukraine, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, as well as in Uzbekistan.

In some CIS countries, this holiday is celebrated on the third Sunday of December and does not have an official status.

Also, the holiday of energy workers has not been declared as a holiday anywhere. On the contrary, because it is the longest night of the year, energy workers work harder than usual and are recognized as the professionals who bring light and heat to homes.
