Today, December 2, is World Anti-Slavery Day

World Day Against Slavery is celebrated every year on December 2.

It was on this day that the UN General Assembly adopted the Convention against Trafficking in Human Beings.

The fight against slavery has been going on since the very beginning of this concept.

However, there were periods in history when the concept of slavery became the norm. Today, slavery has not completely disappeared, even though it is banned in the world.

On this date, public attention is focused on the issues of forced labor, sexual slavery, forced marriage, sale of brides, violence against children and their use during military conflicts, human trafficking.
