Erkin Vahidov about poetry and life

The poem expresses the vital feelings born in the poet’s heart and thus captivates the reader’s heart. The poet cannot burn others without burning himself, he cannot give warmth to other souls without fire in the feelings of the heart. Without this magical flame, there is no benefit from any poetic silences, artistic means, mastery.

The human heart is also a universe. It also has spring and autumn, morning and night, rest and earthquakes. Since poetry is the sound of the heart, it expresses this complex world of emotions. That is why when we rejoice in reading one poem, when our chests are filled with feelings of joy and pride, when we read another poem, we think, we become acquainted with human sufferings. Poetry is the ability to convince the poet of the naturalness and authenticity of those feelings. The ability to persuade is the beginning of talent.

Happiness is something that one does not feel in its presence, one dreams in its absence. A happy person does not declare to the world, "I am happy." Man has never said that he is full of happiness, that happiness is enough.
In fact, living with a purpose in life is happiness. Living without a purpose is such a sight that it should not happen to anyone! When a person has a goal, he struggles to achieve it, suffers, and burns when he hears insults - happiness.

The heaviest loss in this universe is the loss of one’s identity. Mankind lives in a world of contemplation and passion, spirit and faith. He is alive and whole with the faith in his heart, with confidence. Loss of identity is the loss of this world, the breaking of the pillars of human construction.

Man has been given eyes to see the world, ears and senses to hear and feel it. And to know the universe, human beings have a mindset. Man comes into the world and strives to know the world. He travels the world with difficulty to see with the eyes, learn music to hear the sounds, to enjoy. To learn to read the past and the present more vividly, to envision the future, he learns to read and write from childhood, because the book is a torch that illuminates the thinking that God has given to man as a miracle.

There are those who say that talent is, first of all, taste, the ability to have good taste. Talent is a vast concept. If he had squeezed into the definition, if it could have been limited to certain features, people would have created it by cultivating a talent that doesn’t exist. Gorky said that 99 percent of talent means work, not to mention that a person without innate talent can be a true poet or composer by hard work. Anyway, 99 is not a hundred. Water boils at one hundred degrees under normal conditions. Water heated to 99 degrees is not boiling water. In Persian, boiling is said to be “from the heart”. That is to say. Poetry is also passionate. In order to be enthusiastic, you need that humble one percent, in addition to 99 percent - that is, innate talent.

Just as one has to move away from it in order to imagine the greatness of the mountain, it will take a certain amount of time to truly feel the majesty of great historical events. Responsiveness is a good quality of a writer. But it is not a defining condition of literature. Modernity itself is not only a reflection of our lives today, but also an art worthy of our time. For the reader, there is no age of the author, no title, no title. He always expresses his attitude to the author based on the written lines: either he puts it in his heart, or he forgets it, he condemns it to nothingness.

In a life given to man once, he must live contentedly with his life, his past. There is no greater happiness than living without doing something against one's conscience. Every word you say, every deed you do is to your liking - that is the greatest happiness. On the contrary, if a person has a conflict between his inner aspirations, heart, beliefs, words and deeds, and his conscience fails to do what he is commanded to do, it is a great misfortune for him.

Those who aspire to the field of poetry out of curiosity about the name itself, its prestige and fame, without considering the "black work" of poetry, make a mistake. Often such a mistake is very costly. Both for the person who made the mistake and for the poetry. Therefore, "caring for young people" means not only to support them, but also to tell them the truth, to discourage them from making mistakes. A person without a voice cannot be a hafiz, a person without the ability to hear, distinguish and understand music cannot be a composer. But pairing the two lines together, any citizen with the ability to write competently can claim poetry, writing. In our literate age, it has become difficult to separate talent from hobby, especially in literature.
