Car body types
Cars are divided into several body types. Note where these names come from
Hatchback. The term "hatchback" is derived from the design of the rear body structure of the car. A hatchback usually has a rear door that opens up to provide access to the cargo area, yes, hatchbacks officially have 5 doors. This rear door is called a "hatch" and it is mounted on the roof, not on the sidewall of the body like trucks. which increases the capacity of the car
Sedan. The word "sedan" comes from the Latin verb "sedere", which means "to sit". This makes sense, because both "sedan chairs" and "sedan cars" are designed for comfortable sitting!
Wagon. Wagon cars get their name directly from their historical roots in wagons. These hard-working vehicles have been around for centuries, serving a variety of purposes, including transporting cargo, families, and even livestock.
SUV (Sport utility vehicle). This type of car has an off-road character as well as carrying passengers. SUVs sit higher off the ground than sedans or hatchbacks, allowing better movement on high and low terrain and a higher view of the driver. They are often characterized by 4WD (four wheel drive), i.e. by pulling all wheels at the same time, and behave well in uneven or slippery areas.
Convertible. Historically, the term "cabriolet" was not specific to cars. It was originally used for things that could be changed from one form to another, such as furniture or clothing. But its association with automobiles intensified in the early 20th century, especially with the rise of convertibles. These horse-drawn carriages had folding roofs that could be lowered or raised, creating an open-air riding experience, and today convertibles also have the same feature.
P.S. Read more about the history, there are many classic forms of things that look modern ))) pictures show "sedan armchair" and "foytun"
