According to the order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan 251-A, in 1967 on the basis of the Fergana branch of the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute the independent Fergana Polytechnic Institute was established. In August 1967, the first admission to the institute was in the specialties of "Industrial and Civil Construction", "Mechanical Engineering Technology" and "Energy".
